He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As the Portfolio Finance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial health of KiwiRail’s portfolio governance function. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Governance and Assurance, you’ll help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of financial information across major programmes and projects.
This role involves coordinating reporting processes, monitoring budgets, tracking spend and maintaining clear financial documentation to support informed decision-making. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure that all financial activities align with KiwiRail’s strategic goals and funding frameworks.

You’ll bring both technical skill and a collaborative mindset. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Proven experience in financial coordination, project finance, or portfolio reporting
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to meet deadlines
- A commitment to teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or business (preferred)
