We develop individuals to become the next generation of tradespeople in New Zealand’s rail industry. Our programme offers a supportive environment with excellent on-the-job training.

Apprentices have the opportunity to learn from our highly skilled professionals, who are experts in their field, while working towards achieving an NZQA level 4 qualification.

Step 1. Employment at KiwiRail
You will need to be employed with KiwiRail. Please check our job vacancies.

Step 2. Manager’s approval
Speak to your manager and get their approval to enrol in an apprenticeship.

Step 3. Enrolment
Contact our Talent Development Team to make sure you are part of the national programme and complete the enrolment process.
