Here is an exciting opportunity to join KiwiRail as BA Practice Lead. Your new role will see you reporting directly to the General Manager ICT Delivery and working with a highly engaged diverse team. You will be responsible for leading a team of Business Analysts, ensuring that the skillsets and practices utilized are ‘good practice’ and common throughout ICT and are in line with Kiwirail standards. 


Your Role:

As the Business Analyst Practice Lead, you will work in cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for ICT shaped for the business, deliver digital experiences that will delight our internal and external customers and drive positive results and outcomes that showcase digital value. In this role you will work consultatively with stakeholders and end users to elicit information, analyse problems and opportunities and in turn accurately define and document business cases for use in project and work streams.


You will be a people and functional leader of a team of business and product analysts and will be responsible for providing day-to-day management, guidance, and support for your direct reports. You will be accountable for establishing best practice in the team processes and approach, nurturing innovation and thought leadership.


Key to this role delivering value to the business, will be your ability to work closely with stakeholders, the wider digital team, analysts, developments, and testers ensuring your solutions meet customer requirements, business decisions and UX guidelines.


Your Skills:

The right candidate will be a highly experienced BA leader, with a proven history of work on complex business requirements from inception through to production. Your experience will be within large scale enterprise environments and you will be at a highly advanced level in your knowledge of business intelligence, including reporting tools such as SQL Analysis and SSIS (advantageous).


Your ability to critically think around data analysis and assimilate complex information quickly and accurately will be key strengths, along with your ability to prioritise, manage competing projects and organisational skills. You will hold a relevant tertiary level qualification and be a certified Business Analyst professional with IIBA Certifications being desirable.


The role requires strong people leadership capabilities and exceptional stakeholder management skills which you will use to build trusted relationships across all levels of seniority across KiwiRail to influence and develop creative solutions to customer problems that are also viable and feasible for the business to implement.
