Great Journeys New Zealand (GJNZ) operates some of New Zealand’s most iconic Tourism experiences – The TranzAlpine, Coastal Pacific, Capital Connections, Te Huia & Northern Explorer scenic trains. Over recent years we have been embarking on transformational change regarding how we offer unique experiences to domestic and international visitors. Originating from scenic train travel, we now offer Scenic Day Trips, Short Breaks & fully guided multi-day tours.

 

We have an opportunity for two Customer and Café Service Representative’s based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland to join our GJNZ team at our recently re-opened Strand Station Café in Parnell. In this role, you will provide excellent food and beverage service, handle booking and check in, and ensure all customers are informed of any event updates, delays or disruptions.

 

What you’ll do

  • Greet and deal with customers in an empathetic, courteous and willing manner
  • Provide prompt, efficient and personalised service to passengers and customers
  • Stay up to date with all GJNZ trains, services and products
  • Till operations, cash handling and banking procedures
  • Carry out café, public area cleaning and other duties as required

 

What you’ll need

  • 1-2 years’ experience in hospitality or tourism industry
  • Relevant barista training
  • Food hygiene and food handling qualifications are desirable
  • Previous ticketing or booking type experience
  • High standard of personal presentation and grooming
  • Clean, NZ drivers license
