He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As the Northern Facilities Asset Planning Manager, you’ll lead the effort to define and record the details of the property assets we own today, identify what we need now and into the future in your region based on operational demand, and shape our facilities investment planning to efficiently close any gaps. You’ll be the key point of contact for lifecycle asset planning across Northern region facilities (Upper half of the North Island), ensuring plans are strategic, forward-looking, and compliant with regulatory standards. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient environments that support rail operations. Working closely with property-specific subject matter experts such as architects and engineers, as well as KiwiRail’s regional managers, project teams, and compliance specialists, you’ll play a key role in providing leadership and insight on facilities asset investment planning with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone who brings a strong ability to work well with many different stakeholders to facilitate and influence the right outcomes, technical training for deliverables will be provided and are therefore useful but not as important!Tertiary qualificationAutonomously driven and motivated to achieve clear deliverablesStrong communication and stakeholder relationship skillsPassionate and effective in working with diverse stakeholders to achieve organisational goalsA current NZ driver’s licenceA proactive approach to continuous improvement and systems maintenance
Desirable:People leadership and mentoring experienceKnowledge of asset lifecycle management and maintenance planningFamiliarity with government regulations related to buildings, health and safety, heritage, and the environmentA proactive approach to continuous improvement and systems maintenance .
