He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

 

As an HR Associate, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our Senior HR Business Partners and wider HR team.

 

Your work will span across both operational and strategic HR processes, including:

 

  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Assisting with employment agreements and variation letters.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries within your immediate team and providing quality HR advice.
  • Supporting Senior HR Business Partner and HR Business Partners within the team with leave management, reporting and being a super-user for our HR systems (SAP and Jade).
  • Partnering with managers to ensure smooth delivery of HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborating on a variety of HR projects, from engagement surveys to graduate programmes.

 

This role offers exposure to both corporate and frontline operations, giving you a unique perspective on a unionised, dynamic environment.

  • Proven experience in HR administration or coordination.
  • An understanding of HR functions, policies, and systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A commitment to safety and KiwiRail’s values.
  • Experience in a unionised or large organisation.
  • Knowledge of HR systems such as SAP or Jade.
