KiwiRail is modernising its rail and Interislander services, and ICT plays a key role in this transformation. As a Project Manager, you will plan and deliver technology projects that support this change.

You will manage projects from start to finish, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget. You will work closely with business and technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve strong outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining project scope, plans, budgets, and timelines
  • Coordinating ICT teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Managing risks, issues, and project changes
  • Reporting progress and maintaining stakeholder alignment
  • Ensuring quality delivery through testing and review
  • Supporting continuous improvement across project delivery

This role requires strong relationship management and the ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders.

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:

We are looking for experienced and collaborative Project Managers who can deliver complex ICT initiatives.

You will bring:

  • 10–12+ years’ experience in ICT, with a strong track record in project delivery
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-level ICT projects
  • Strong knowledge of project methodologies such as Agile, PRINCE2, or PMP
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A practical approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs
  • It would be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience working across multiple delivery methodologies
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or project certification

You will also be customer-focused, adaptable, and committed to safe and effective ways of working.
