Insights and Data Analysis Manager

Our safety and risk assurance team seeks a skilled business analyst with a strong IT background to join the team to manage the development of our SHE data reporting. This is a great role for someone who has developed or managed the creation of reporting dashboards in real time and who has some experience in predictive data analysis.

The Insights and Data Analysis Manager is accountable for providing SHE data analysis, intelligence and data assurance. We operate a bespoke SHE system which is the repository for all data relating to Zero Harm for the Kiwirail business. In your role, you will ensure that the right information is accessed, accurate and converted into meaningful dashboards for use by our Zero Harm advisors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the development and delivery of a statistical analysis service for the business, covering zero harm and related statistical data
  • Ensure that management and other need to know parties have accurate, validated, reliable and timely information on which to make risk-based decisions
  • Providing data trending and analysis including aspects of causality and supporting operational intelligence gathering to identify areas of focus
  • 5 years plus experience in IT in a large corporate with complex data reporting requirements
  • Systems management experience
  • Critical thinker
  • Able to communicate and engage with people throughout KiwiRail.
  • Significant experience in the development and delivery of accurate, assured and numerate analysis of safety and risk performance using lag and lead indicators.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a genuine interest in Health and Safety reporting.
