He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:

 

As our Procurement Specialist, you will directly support the Procurement and Process Improvement Manager providing specialist procurement leadership, advice and assistance across KiwiRail.  You will contribute to the objectives of the Procurement Team and the implementation of KiwiRail’s Procurement Strategy. 

 

Specifically, your accountabilities will include:

 

  • Providing strategic and commercial advice to business stakeholders and champion best practice procurement
  • Supporting with the development of category/sub-category strategies and multi-year plans
  • Driving improvements in data classification and performing data analysis
  • Preparing reports and Visualisations of Data for management review
  • Ensuring organisational compliance with Government and KiwiRail rules, policies, and procedures
  • Conducting and evaluating sourcing activity and making recommendations
  • Developing change management plans
  • Identifying risks and opportunities and writing business cases
  • Performing audits and responding to audit actions as required
  • Developing and enhancing relationships across internal and external stakeholders

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What (skills) you will bring:

 

  • You must have at least five years’ procurement experience in a medium to large company, which may include a consultancy, state-owned enterprise or a multinational
  • Proven experience with data modelling and ability to create reports
  • A high level of experience in drafting contracts, contract negotiations and implementation, including vendor management
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information
  • Ability to perform business process modelling and mapping
  • Strong analysis and modelling (Excel, Power BI) and SAP experience
