As the Project Manager – People Solutions, you will play a central role in enabling KiwiRail’s transformation by delivering high‑impact people and culture projects across the organisation.  This is a strategic role where you will lead end‑to‑end initiatives across the People & Culture business unit, working closely with senior leaders to translate strategy into structured, actionable project plans. You’ll establish clear governance, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure consistent delivery standards across the People & Culture portfolio. Your work will support new ways of working, embed best‑practice project disciplines, and deliver sustainable improvements aligned to KiwiRail’s strategic priorities.

We’re looking for an experienced project professional with strong people and culture capability. Ideally, you will bring:

 

  • Proven experience leading complex people and culture or HR projects in large, operational environments
  • Strong ability to translate strategic objectives into clear project plans, milestones, and outcomes
  • Experience establishing project governance, reporting, risk and issue management frameworks
  • Confidence coordinating cross‑functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using workforce or project data to inform decision‑making
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • A strong commitment to safety, health, wellbeing, and inclusive ways of working
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required
