He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Based in Auckland, you’ll play a critical role as the Senior SHW Business Partner for KiwiRail’s Metros portfolio. You’ll support operational leadership to implement safety, health, and wellbeing strategies across our Metro operations, ensuring compliance with KiwiRail’s Zero Harm culture.  This role involves engaging with teams at all levels to drive safety culture, deliver on safety performance, and improve wellbeing across the business. You'll be responsible for coaching senior leaders, facilitating critical risk management, leading incident investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a generalist SHW role within complex operational environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead safety strategy implementation, especially in large, operational teams
  • Competency in Safety, Health & Wellbeing frameworks, risk management, and emergency management
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, particularly at senior leadership levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Safety, Health, and Well-being

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working with government agencies and contractors
  • Advanced knowledge of KiwiRail's operations and its relationship with external entities
