He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:

 

KiwiRail is in a phase of significant transformation to modernise and grow our rail and Interislander ferry services in Aotearoa. 

 

The Auckland Metro Programme (AMP) team has been tasked with the management and delivery of a wide programme of network capital activities. Projects within this scope of works are ARDP (Auckland Rail Development Programme), CRL (City Rail Link) and its associated interfaces and integration, accelerated network projects and the macro planning for rail initiatives over a 30-year programme.

 

You will be responsible for delivering an SFC traction substation as part of the Southern Power Feed programme of works within the AMP team's remit and oversee every stage of the project lifecycle, ensuring successful planning, execution and completion.

  • Project leadership and governance
  • Project execution and delivery
  • Resource and stakeholder management
  • Contract and financial management
  • Design and construction management
  • Change management and programme integration

This role requires a proactive and strategic leader with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, complex projects while maintaining governance and financial discipline. You will play a key role in driving organisational success through effective project execution and leadership.

 

To excel in this role, you’ll bring:

 

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies and reporting
  • 10+ years in a project management environment working on complex programmes across a diverse portfolio, including Traction electrical engineering, civil engineering procurement, consultant and contractor management
  • 10+ years rail project management experience
  • Ability to review work practices, productivity and cost control
  • Ability to assess risks, identify and scope changes and find solutions
  • Provide subject matter and technical expertise
  • Tertiary qualifications in related discipline and project management qualifications such as PRINCE, PMP
