He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role 

We’re introducing a new Supply Planner role to our Operations Planning team. This is a unique opportunity to take initiative and help shape how the role evolves as we grow. 

You’ll lead the development of a 36-month aggregate supply plan, aligning operational capabilities with KiwiRail’s strategic goals. Your work will directly support the smooth running of our supply chain – helping us deliver services efficiently and reliably. 

 

You will need: 

  • Turn demand forecasts into clear, actionable supply plans 
  • Use data and scenario planning to assess risk and support robust decision-making 
  • Collaborate with leaders to refine capacity and resource planning 
  • Monitor and adjust supply plans in response to operational needs 
  • Present insights using visual and analytical tools 

 

Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:

We’re looking for a supply planning professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building strong working relationships. 

 

You’ll bring: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in supply or capacity planning 
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail 
  • Familiarity with planning tools and reporting systems 
  • Confidence in balancing supply and demand across complex operations 
  • Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills 
  • Ability to adapt plans to meet changing needs 

Also required: 

  • A relevant degree in supply chain, logistics, or analytics 
  • A current and valid NZ driver’s licence 
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening 

It’s a bonus if you have: 

  • Industry experience in rail, logistics, or infrastructure 
  • Certifications in supply chain or planning tools
