He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:
The Train Capacity Planner is central to how we plan and deliver freight rail services across the network. You’ll ensure our trains are configured, resourced and scheduled to meet and supply customer demands, while optimising the use of key assets (locomotives, wagons and containers). You’ll manage the production and distribution of critical planning documents and play a key part in our shift from legacy systems to new planning tools.
- Coordinate the creation and release of business‑critical planning documents
- Manage allocation of scarce resources and assets
- Analyse complex customer requirements and collaborate across the business to find workable solutions
- Maintain data in AMICUS, DTSP and other planning systems
- Provide advice on proposed and confirmed changes to plans
- Support internal partners with accurate and timely information
- Ensure all planning activity upholds our strong safety, health and wellbeing standards
Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a planning, coordination or analytical role
- Strong data entry and Excel skills (intermediate–advanced)
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and via MS Teams
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to work with complex information
- High attention to detail and a commitment to deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
