We are looking for a committed team player to join us as a Trainee Structures Worker for our team.  This is a great opportunity to enter the rail industry and build on your existing skills in an iconic company which can develop into a great career.

 

As a member of a KiwiRail infrastructure team, you would be required to work efficiently in a small team environment to carry out maintenance, repairs, or renewals of all railways structures (such as bridges, light towers and culverts) on the track network. If you have a 'can do and will do attitude', enjoy learning and can problem solve in a fast-paced outdoor environment, the railway could be for you!

  • A genuine commitment to safety and Zero Harm
  • Ability to travel and stay away overnight, including attending call backs/outs when required
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions outdoors and to work at heights
  • A current full, clean Class 1 Licence
  • Class 2 licence would be desirable but not essential
  • Experience in the building industry or similar environment would be an advantage
