- To start in early February
- $28.93 per hour starting rate moving to $30.69 on completion of CTO 1 training
- Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week), based on a rotating roster operating 24/7 (Monday to Sunday and including public holidays), so flexibility is your key to success

You are provided with the chance to undertake a range of introductory training and development with our trainer on site to learn the skillset for the role and adapt a Zero Harm mindset which will enable you to a career in Container Terminal Operations. We will train you up to safely operate our 8 tonne, 32 tonne and 48 tonne container hoists and enable you to work in the full Container Terminal Operator capacity.
Working first as a Trainee Container Terminal Operator you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking a range of introductory training and development in the fields of CT Operations as well as Health and Safety regulations
- Conducting checks on containers/wagons to ensure twist locks and pins are in place, freight is contained, and setups completed
- Conducting ground and yard checks, complete forms and paperwork and comply with operating safety rules
- Undergo training to achieve certification to operate heavy machinery

- Class 1 Full Licence (essential)
- NCEA Level 1 in Maths and English
- An interest in the freight and logistics industry
- An interest in Zero Harm and working safely
- To be physically fit and have the ability to work outdoors in all weather
- Work well in a team following procedures
- Reliable with a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral English language
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to learn
