He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role: 

Join us for the 2025–2026 autumn season as a Tour Guide – a vital ambassador for our scenic rail tours and guided experiences. This is a fixed-term opportunity starting as soon as possible and running until mid-May 2025. 

You'll accompany guests between Auckland and Queenstown, offering cultural insights, organising activities and accommodations, and managing on-the-go logistics. Whether by train, coach, or ferry, you'll ensure our guests are informed, comfortable, and inspired. Alongside your tour responsibilities, you'll also contribute behind the scenes with reporting, admin, and supplier coordination. 

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring: 

We’re looking for someone who combines customer passion with operational savvy: 

  • At least 2 years' tour guiding experience 
  • Strong people skills and fluent English communication (verbal and written) 
  • Knowledge of Aotearoa’s key tourism destinations and cultural context 
  • Organisational strength with attention to detail and flexibility 
  • Proficiency in IT systems and booking platforms 
  • A tertiary qualification in tourism or relevant experience 
  • Te reo Māori knowledge and appreciation of te ao Māori is desirable
