He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:

 

We are looking for a delivery-focused Programme Coordinator to join this interesting, fun, and critical Rail Network Investment Programme (RNIP).  RNIP is a three-year investment programme and a ten-year investment forecast for the national rail network.

 

This role will be working closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to works delivery is achieved.  Along with the typical duties of the Programme Coordinator, the role will play a pivotal role in navigating the intricate landscape of complex, strategic and multi-year programmes. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the governance framework, ensuring seamless coordination and strategic alignment across all aspects of the programme. This will include liaising with various stakeholders including and not limited to various Delivery Groups, Engineering, Planning, Asset Management and Finance. The position will deliver project management as a basic part of their role, including project and financial administration.  

 

Key accountabilities include:  

 

  • Coordinating multiple teams’ information and integrating their plans into a unified delivery approach
  • Maintaining compliance with formal processes and RNIP requirements
  • Identifying and responding to risks and potential delays while balancing multiple deadlines and dependencies
  • Achieving alignment between operational delivery and broader strategic objectives
  • Ensuring robust governance and documentation
  • Tracking meaningful outcomes and ensuring programme benefits are realised, measured and sustained

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What (skills) you will bring:

 

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Programme Coordinator and skilled at managing a variety of tasks simultaneously. You will be highly collaborative with an investigative, adaptable attitude and an eye for detail. You will have the confidence to make decisions and manage up as required, and ideally have experience in an engineering/construction environment.

 

Specifically, you must have:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in the construction or railway industry, leading or supporting capital works projects or programmes
  • Experience working in complex infrastructure environments
  • Expertise in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and other project management tools
  • Experience in analysing, evaluating and solving problems
  • Knowledge of process mapping software (MS Viso, ProMapp)
  • Experience with basic project planning and management tools
  • Ideally, you will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering or Business and Commerce
