Team Leader – Invercargill


The Rolling Stock Asset Services (RSAS) group has overall responsibility and ownership for managing KiwiRail’s rolling stock assets, including but not limited to:

  • mainline and shunt locomotives
  • freight and specialist wagons
  • containers
  • passenger carriages
  • other rolling stock vehicles and equipment.

In this role you will be leading a small Team working on Diesel Locomotives, Shunts and Electric wagons performing maintenance and repairs.


Your new role:

The Team Leader, leads and organises the team daily and liaises with Planners to ensure work progresses to required standards in a timely manner.  He/she guides and mentor’s staff, leads by example, takes accountability for the team’s work and looks for opportunities for improvement.  The Team Leader supports the Site Leader in achieving the site’s targets. To be successful in this role you will need:

  • demonstrated leadership ability 
  • relevant technical background in a heavy maintenance industry, military, transport enviroment
  • computer literacy 
  • able to handle change and ambiguity 
  • current clean full driver’s license
