  • Shift work – full time 24 hour roster including night shifts
  • Permanent, located in Wellington
  • $34.60 per hour while training plus penal rates & allowances

What you’ll do

 

As a Traction & Systems Controller you will look to monitor and control the Auckland & Wellington Electrified Traction Systems.  You will be responsible for rail system support duties for the national rail network on a 24/7 rotating roster.  

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Electrical Control Operations Planning 
  • Systems Support 
  • Records Management 
  • Rail Safety System Responsibilities 
  • Other general duties

 

What you’ll need

 

  • An Electrical qualification as a Line Mechanic or Electrician or Electrical Service Technician 
  • Experience working with electrical systems or non-electrical trade or technical experience that shows an ability to understand control systems and procedures 
  • Experience working shift work
  • Ability to travel and stay away from Wellington (including Auckland) for short periods
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • NCEA Level 1 in Maths & English or Equivalent  
  • Full Class 1 Drivers Licence (New Zealand or International)
