- Starting rate is $28.93 per hour + overtime + penal rates
He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As a Track Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and improving KiwiRail’s infrastructure. Working closely with your team, you’ll carry out maintenance, repairs, and renewals to keep our tracks safe and reliable. From operating tools to assisting with welding tasks, you’ll gain hands-on experience and receive on-the-job training to build your skills.
This is a physically active role, often outdoors, requiring adaptability and teamwork. Safety is our top priority, and you’ll actively contribute to fostering a Zero Harm culture by participating in toolbox discussions and ensuring all work complies with safety standards.

We’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn, safety-conscious, and ready to tackle challenges head-on. You’ll have:
- A “can-do” attitude and the ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexibility around rostered hours and weekend works
- Basic physical fitness and stamina for a hands-on role
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail
- A Class 2 driver’s licence (or in the process of obtaining one)
