He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
As a Corridor Access Advisor, you’ll make sure all work in and around the rail corridor is carried out safely and efficiently. Working closely with contractors, stakeholders, and KiwiRail teams, you’ll review Corridor Access requests, issue Permit to Enter, and provide clear guidance on corridor access requirements.

 


You’ll also:
•    Support audits and inspections of permit holders and access sites
•    Monitor and respond to corridor access queries
•    Report incidents, hazards, and near misses accurately and promptly
•    Help contractors and teams understand and follow safety standards

 

This role is based in one of our main centres near a major airport, with occasional national travel by agreement.

You’ll bring a safety-first mindset and excellent communication skills, along with:


•    Experience in a permitting, compliance, or safety-focused role (infrastructure, construction, or utilities is ideal)
•    Understanding of basic safety protocols and regulatory processes
•    Confidence using Microsoft Office tools and managing documentation
•    Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and solve problems proactively
•    Strong customer service focus when working with contractors and stakeholders

 

It would also be great if you have:
•    Knowledge of corridor access or permitting processes
•    Experience supporting health and safety practices in operational settings
•    Exposure to rail, roading, or utilities environments

 

A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
