He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As Isolation Planner, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the safe and reliable planning of traction power isolations within the Auckland Metro network.
You’ll develop detailed isolation plans and documentation, coordinate with teams across KiwiRail, and provide technical advice to help field crews and stakeholders carry out work safely around live overhead line equipment (OLE). Your work will support both day-to-day operations and major projects across the network.
This role sits at the heart of safety, planning, and collaboration ensuring every isolation is right the first time, every time.

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:
You’ll have a strong understanding of electrical systems, a proactive approach to planning, and the confidence to guide others on safety-critical tasks.


You’ll need:
•    3+ years of experience in traction systems (maintenance, construction, or engineering)
•    Knowledge of electrical industry statutes and best practice
•    Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
•    A right-first-time mindset and attention to detail
•    NZ electrical registration or tertiary electrical engineering qualification

 

It’s also desirable that you bring:
•    In-depth knowledge of 25kV AC traction systems
•    OLE construction or maintenance experience
•    Electrical Inspector registration (under the Electricity Act)
•    Experience with HV electrical installations and planning tools (Excel proficiency required)
