He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role

 

This is a newly created role where you’ll take ownership of in-house curtain and container repairs, helping us lift standards and build capability in this specialist area. Your expertise will shape how we deliver this work going forward.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing rail curtains and containers
  • Assessing damage and completing quality repairs to agreed standards
  • Working outdoors in a rail yard environment
  • Partnering with operational teams to return containers to service safely and efficiently
  • Balance hands-on repair work with administrative tasks - you will use computer systems to complete documentation, record jobs and track repairs
  • Follow safe work practices, identify risks, and contribute to a safe work environment for yourself and others

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring

 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ curtain maintenance experience – rail or truck
  • Strong knowledge of container repairs, ideally in a rail environment
  • Ability to work outdoors and carry out physical tasks safely
  • A sharp eye for detail and high-quality workmanship
  • Confidence using computer systems for tracking and administration
  • Clear and respectful communication skills
  • A strong safety focus and sound judgement
  • Initiative, reliability and can work independently
  • Pride in your work and drive to help build a new in-house capability
