He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the Role
As a Learning and Development Facilitator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality training programs to KiwiRail staff and our partners across the rail network. This is a hands-on role where you’ll use your facilitation skills to develop and deliver training solutions that support KiwiRail’s learning and development needs.
Your ability to engage staff, deliver impactful training, and ensure consistent safety standards will be vital to your success. You’ll work closely with the Learning Delivery Team Leader and contribute to the continuous improvement of our training programs, ensuring they meet regulatory and operational requirements.

We’re looking for a passionate individual with strong people skills and a focus on learning and development outcomes. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Must have experience as a Rail Operator or Senior Shunter in the yard, preferably with minder experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to identify and implement training solutions.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage documentation and use Learning Management Systems
- A proactive approach to improving training processes and outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safety and wellbeing as an integral part of KiwiRail’s culture.
- Ideal candidate would have vast knowledge and experience of Shunting and Train Examination in the yard operating environment
