He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
We’re looking for a practical, safety-conscious individual to join our Taumarunui maintenance team as a Trainee Track Worker.
This full-time, permanent role is an excellent entry point into the rail industry. You’ll work outdoors alongside experienced colleagues to help maintain and repair our rail tracks and infrastructure. It’s physical work with real purpose – and we’ll train you every step of the way.
You’ll:
- Maintain and repair rail tracks using tools and light machinery
- Work safely in all-weather as part of a tight-knit team
- Support other infrastructure projects as needed
Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:
We’re after someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build a long-term career in rail.
You’ll need:
- A full, clean New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence (manual experience is a bonus)
- Physical fitness and a strong commitment to health and safety
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- The ability to pass Ministry of Justice, medical, and drug/alcohol screening checks
Helpful but not essential:
- Class 2 (HT) licence – or we’ll help you get one
- Experience using mechanical tools or working in construction
