This is an entry-level role where you will receive excellent training and support to set you up for a rewarding career in Rail.

  • Full training provided
  • Starting hourly rate $27.81 + paid overtime
  • Week 1 Shift: Monday to Thurday - 10 hrs per day - RDO Friday to Saturday
  • Week 2 Shift: Sunday to Wednesday - 10 hrs per day -Thursday to Saturday

What you’ll do

  • As a member of our maintenance teams, you will work in a team environment carrying out maintenance, repairs, and renewals of the infrastructure asset (the train tracks) in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner
  • This is an outdoor role you will need to be physically fit, willing to work in all weather conditions, and not afraid to get your hands dirty
  • You must enjoy working as part of a team, with a positive attitude

  • Current and valid Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence
  • Class 2 (HT Licence) is advantageous, but if not, we can support you in getting one if it's required in your role
  • Experience in the construction industry or in a heavy labouring environment, using light mechanical hand tools
  • Results-driven and have the ability to follow safety guidelines
  • Solid level of both verbal and written communication
  • You must also be able to pass a Ministry of Justice check and complete a mandatory medical and drug test to be considered for this role
