He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
- Work collaboratively to carry out maintenance, repair and upgrades to rail infrastructure
- Training will include classroom learning, on-the-job training and practical experience to gain knowledge and confidence
- Operate tools and minor equipment under supervision, gaining competency as you progress
- An active, physical role where teamwork and safety come first
- Be prepared to work shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Monday to Sunday, 80 hours per fortnight, on a rotational roster

- A clean NZ Driver’s License – Class 1 is essential in this role
- A team player who communicates openly and respectfully
- Safety focused and the courage to ask questions when unsure
- The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically active, quick learner who enjoys practical hands-on work
- You must be able to pass a CAT1 pre-employment medical assessment (highest safety criticality)
- Flexibility to work shifts, including night shift, overnights and callouts once fully trained
