He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of protecting KiwiRail’s operations. Reporting to the Cyber Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and investigating cyber events
- Managing incident response and coordinating remediations
- Identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in our systems
- Automating repetitive security tasks to enhance efficiency
- Engaging KiwiRail staff in cybersecurity awareness and training
- Drafting comprehensive security reports and recommendations
- Your work will ensure KiwiRail’s digital infrastructure remains resilient, safeguarding our operations and the communities we serve

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- At least 2 years’ experience in Cybersecurity or related fields
- Familiarity with IT security standards and tools like AlienVault, Trend Micro, or equivalents
- Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Strong analytical skills for identifying and explaining anomalies
- Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
