He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role: 

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of protecting KiwiRail’s operations. Reporting to the Cyber Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Monitoring and investigating cyber events 
  • Managing incident response and coordinating remediations 
  • Identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in our systems 
  • Automating repetitive security tasks to enhance efficiency 
  • Engaging KiwiRail staff in cybersecurity awareness and training 
  • Drafting comprehensive security reports and recommendations 
  • Your work will ensure KiwiRail’s digital infrastructure remains resilient, safeguarding our operations and the communities we serve

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring: 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need: 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Cybersecurity or related fields 
  • Familiarity with IT security standards and tools like AlienVault, Trend Micro, or equivalents 
  • Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages 
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying and explaining anomalies 
  • Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused mindset 
  • We also value individuals who are adaptable, collaborative, and eager to learn
