We have an exciting opportunity for a Geospatial Analyst to join KiwiRail's Digital Infrastructure team. This role will support the delivery of our geospatial re-platforming programme and wider team initiatives, helping replace legacy systems with modern geospatial solutions that improve how KiwiRail designs, builds, and manages its assets. Working closely with project teams, stakeholders and technical specialists; you’ll be building modern, fit for purpose applications using the latest ArcGIS Enterprise technology. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure programmes while supporting innovation across KiwiRail's Capital Projects, Infrastructure, and Metro businesses.
What you'll be doing

Working with the wider geospatial team and stakeholders to understand business challenges, agree scope and develop practical, fit for purpose geospatial solutions

Building or deriving new geospatial datasets using linear referencing or configuring and improving existing datasets.

Building FME workflows to streamline and automate data update processes.

Developing webmaps, dashboards, web and mobile applications using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.

Providing GIS expertise, training, and technical support to project and operational teams transitioning to modern technology and new ways of working.

Extracting geospatial data and producing adhoc maps when requested.

You'll be a motivated GIS professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and leveraging technology to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
You will bring:

At least one year of experience working with geospatial technologies and ESRI software including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Pro

Experience managing, analysing, and visualising geospatial data
-
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
-
Experience developing maps, web applications, dashboards, or mobile GIS solutions

A passion for growing geospatial capability and driving innovation
-
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
-
The ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Experience using FME or other automation tools

Experience working with asset data or infrastructure datasets (desirable)

A tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Architecture, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline

Equivalent relevant industry experience will also be considered

Relevant Esri or FME certifications will be an advantage
