About the role:

This key leadership role is part of our New Interislander transformation team and will be instrumental in driving business growth and strategies for our organisation.

As Head of Sales, you will lead a small team to develop and lead Interislander’s sale strategy to maximise our revenue and deliver on desired objectives.  You will be responsible for shaping the future of the Interislander’s wholesale, domestic and international sales channels and relationships, working in partnership with the wider KiwiRail sales strategies.


You will focus on building customer loyalty, improving margin contribution and managing our competitor profile to ensure Interislander and KiwiRail is a market leader and a well-known brand. 


The Head of Sales will have proven abilities in identifying and negotiating new business opportunities, be great at building long-term business relationships, measuring our success and value derived from our activity, and love the idea of working within a growing organisation with a clear purpose and vital to the infrastructure of New Zealand.


About you:

We are looking for a driven individual who is comfortable operating in a busy environment.  You will have 9+ years experience in a sales or business development leadership role along with a collaborative and engaging leadership style.


Proven experience in driving new business in line with the organisations strategic direction, priority targets and budget is a must.  You will be a great communicator with the ability to maintain and grow both existing and new relationships with confidence, integrity and modesty.
