Our 10-12-week internship programme offers a meaningful opportunity to apply your studies in a rea life setting. Based in our corporate offices, you’ll shadow experienced professionals, contribute to ongoing work, and gain valuable insight into your potential career path. 

You’ll be assigned a buddy to support your development and help you navigate the KiwiRail way of working. Along the way, you’ll also receive health, safety, and personal development training to set you up for success. 

 

Internship opportunities for 2025/ 2026 include: 

1x ICT Intern Auckland 

1x Cyber Security Intern Wellington 

2x Civil Intern Auckland and Wellington  

1x Electrical Intern Wellington 

7x Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Interns -Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North, Christchurch, Dunedin  

1 x SHW intern (IT Data Architecture) Auckland 

1 x Project Asset Management Intern Auckland
