We have graduate roles available across our different business units; Engineering, Rolling Stock Asset Services (RSAS) and Capital Projects and Asset Development (CPAD), based in Auckland or Wellington.


Your Role:

As a Graduate at KiwiRail, you will rotate for 2 years within your assigned business unit’s different teams, where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills, working alongside talented and experienced professionals. You will be immersed into the lifecycle phases of some of our major projects and will directly support our strong and diverse multi-discipline rail Engineering (e.g. rail-track, civil, structures, traction electrical, signals, control systems, mechanical) to deliver professional services to a vast portfolio of rail infrastructure renewal and upgrade projects.

Your Skills:


What will I need?


  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Have recently graduated (within the last two years) or be graduating this year with a degree
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships quickly and effectively
  • A curious, proactive and innovative mindset
  • Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Resident
