Our Career Opportunity:

KiwiRail needs a Senior Resource Management Act Advisor. Working as part of our small Auckland based RMA team the main focus of the role is to support Kiwirails Capital Works Programme.

This is a busy position. Our team has responsibility for supporting all of KiwiRail's major programmes of work. Our main objective is to provide Resource Management Act advice and support to KiwiRail, to achieve compliance and the proactive protection of KiwiRail’s operations and developments. You will liaise with councils on strategy, plans and applications, and get involved in planning related policy and legislative changes that impact on our business.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work on significant, iconic and well funded programmes of work.

Your Skills:

The role is challenging and rewarding. You’ll need to be self-motivated and someone who can handle multiple deadlines. You also need to be able to see the big picture, and to provide policy and strategic advice to internal clients.

We're looking for someone with an NZPI recognised planning qualification and at least 6 years New Zealand based planning experience within the RMA framework, preferably with a focus on capital works and infrastructure.
