We are currently recruiting for a permanent Project Engineer role based in Christchurch.

 

Please note: this role is based in Christchurch.

This Track focussed Project Engineer role will work across multiple Capital Projects & Asset Development projects including iReX, Waltham, and Hillside Mechanical Facilities.

 

As the Project Engineer, you will leverage your Railway background to assist the Track Manager in the delivery of the CPAD programme of works. You will plan and supervise site works, assist in the development of technical requirements, and risk management of projects.

 

There will be travel required in this role.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering large construction projects, specifying and establishing project parameters
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective design coordination
  • Providing work direction and leadership to assigned project teams, including scheduling and review of project works
  • Providing subject matter and technical expertise in the delivery or rail systems and related subjects
  • Assisting with programme reporting
  • Assisting to update and monitor risk registers for CPAD programmes
  • Assisting in the development of rail track designs

To be successful in this role, you will have proven engineering experience in Rail and the ability to see the big picture, and the ability to work confidently with ambiguity and an ever-changing environment. You will also have extensive experience with project planning, budgeting, risk, and reporting practices.

 

Importantly, you will bring together a wide variety of stakeholders through your excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
