In more recent times KiwiRail has been engaged in a Full Potential Assessment review and built a 5-year transformation plan known as our "One Future" Transformation plan.  The Maintenance and Inventory Planner will join KiwiRail's Interislander business unit during an exciting new "build and grow" phase.

 

What you'll do

 

Good asset management and inventory planning are critical enablers to achieving successful reliability and on-time-performance of our ships. Our Maintenance and Inventory Planner will assist in developing effective inventory strategies and inventory planning to achieve Interislander and KiwiRail strategic objectives.  Working closely with the Programme and Asset Manager, Asset Manager Data Specialist and Ship Heads of Departments, you’ll identify and plan inventory requirements for major maintenance periods, asset overhauls and upgrades with a planning and implementation horizon out two years.

 

You will facilitate inventory health checks onboard our ships and warehouse, as well as lead the planning and implementation of annual inventory stock takes for Interislander. Additionally, you will be our champion for establishing and implementing a new Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and contribute to the governance of Master Data; critical to the success of MRP.

 

What you'll need

 

It’s essential that you bring your proven experience as an inventory manager to this role.  You will have demonstrated experience in the use of computer maintenance management systems complemented by your partnership and influencing skills.  Other key requirements are:

 

  • Conversant in supply chain and inventory principles
  • Ability to provide critical insights through robust data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of a business
  • Proficiency in analysis and reporting software suites
  • Current, full driver’s licence
  • Relevant tertiary qualification

Salary band is $100,000 - $125,000 (midpoint) - $150,000 - typically we appoint in the range up to midpoint but can appoint higher dependent on skillset and experience
