We’re looking for an experienced SAP Technical Writer to join our Integrated Business Services team in Auckland on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
You’ll play a key role in supporting KiwiRail’s transformation journey by developing clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation. Working with engineers, asset managers, and subject matter experts, you’ll translate complex concepts into practical guides, manuals, and reports that help our people work efficiently and safely.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change across KiwiRail and help create consistent, accessible information that supports better decision-making and collaboration across the business.

You’re someone who enjoys making the complex simple and understands the importance of clear, well-structured communication. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience with SAP systems and related documentation
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas in plain language
- Experience developing manuals, standard operating procedures, and maintenance guides
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- A collaborative mindset and ability to build positive relationships with diverse teams
- Confidence using digital tools to manage and retrieve information efficiently
- Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a calm, solution-focused approach
- Relevant tertiary qualification or industry certification
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
