Security and Integrity Manager

He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role: 

As the Security and Integrity Manager, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding KiwiRail’s people, assets, reputation and operational integrity. You will contribute to security risk management and integrity across the organisation, driving a proactive approach to identifying, preventing, and responding to security risks across a complex, nationally significant environment. 
 
Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and external stakeholders, you will help embed best practice security frameworks, influence strategic decision-making, and support a culture of security awareness and integrity across KiwiRail. 

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing and overseeing Security Risk Management Frameworks, including prevention, detection, and response strategies 

  • Promoting a culture of security awareness and integrity across the organisation 

  • Contributing to an enterprise-wide view of security risk exposure 

  • Leading the transition from reactive to proactive security risk management approaches 

  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and NZ Police 

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards 

  • Supporting and delivering security uplift initiatives and projects across the organisation 

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring: 

  • At least 10 years’ experience in senior security, risk management, or law enforcement roles 

  • Strong knowledge of security risk management frameworks and prevention techniques 

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale security initiatives in complex organisations 

  • Knowledge of Government Protective Security Requirements (PSR) and relevant regulatory environments 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels 

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate, assess, and respond to risk 

  • High ethical standards with a strong commitment to integrity 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a New Zealand National Security clearance up to and including SECRET  

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
