He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:

 

This role is within the Corporate Finance function and contributes to the continuous improvement of financial planning and performance reporting of KiwiRail, building on existing platforms to support the development of the corporate reporting function. The Financial Planning & Performance Reporting team plays a pivotal role in our financial reporting to the Executive team and the Board, as well as to external stakeholders. The deliverables of this team are relied upon for decision making and therefore are produced to a high-quality standard.

 

Key accountabilities include:

 

  • Production of high-quality financial reporting, modelling, analysis and advice in relation to performance of the KiwiRail Group for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaising and working closely with the wider CFO Group as well as operating business units and support any cross functional projects
  • Building excellent working relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Always upholding KiwiRail’s values
  • Contributing towards improving the quality and efficiency of performance reporting processes and identifying opportunities to introduce new technological advancements as an enabler of this

 

 

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What (skills) you will bring:

 

Knowledge and experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a professional services firm, large corporate or Government agency
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards and their application
  • Experience in preparation of budgets and forecasts and financial modelling
  • Exposure to CFISnet desirable
  • Knowledge of and exposure to SAP or similar ERP system

  • Able to develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the company and with external stakeholder

Qualifications

  • CAANZ recognised Chartered Accountant qualification or comparable
  • Bachelor Business/Commerce in Accounting, or comparable
