We're looking for a Senior BASIS Administrator - SAP to join KiwiRail's ERP and Asset Services team in Wellington.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SAP infrastructure specialist to help maintain and enhance the enterprise systems that support one of New Zealand's largest infrastructure organisations.
You'll be responsible for the performance, security, reliability, and ongoing administration of KiwiRail's SAP environment, working closely with developers, functional consultants, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering and supporting SAP ECC6 environments across Development, QA, and Production
- Managing SAP upgrades, patching, kernel updates, and transport management
- Monitoring system performance, availability, and resolving complex technical issues
- Supporting database administration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities
- Maintaining SAP security, user administration, and compliance requirements
- Supporting SAP integrations and enterprise application connectivity
- Contributing to system upgrades, enhancement projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partnering with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver reliable platform services
Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:
- 10+ years' experience supporting SAP BASIS in complex enterprise environments
- Strong experience administering SAP ECC6 across multiple environments
- Expertise in SAP installations, upgrades, patching, transport management, and system monitoring
- Experience supporting Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or SAP HANA databases
- Knowledge of SAP security, user administration, and compliance controls
- Experience supporting SAP integrations, interfaces, and middleware connectivity
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on performance and reliability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
