We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our Engineering and Assets team on a fixed-term basis.
What you’ll do:
In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining clear and accurate technical documentation to support our engineering and asset management activities. Your work will ensure that our internal and external stakeholders have access to high-quality materials, such as manuals, procedures, reports, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers, asset managers, and subject matter experts to gather technical information
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, maintenance guides, standard operating procedures, technical reports, and asset management guidelines
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly language
- Ensure that all documents adhere to internal standards and industry best practices
- Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and consistency
- Support the development of asset management plans and engineering projects through comprehensive documentation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure documents align with project goals and requirements
- Assist in managing document control systems, ensuring all materials are up to date and easily accessible
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance documentation processes
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience in technical writing, particularly within an engineering or asset management environment
- A degree or diploma in Engineering, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
- Strong understanding of engineering concepts, asset management principles, and industry standards
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in document authoring tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or other content management systems)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Experience working in heavy transport, construction or plant equipment would be a desirable
