He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Based within the Auckland Rail Operations Centre, the Infrastructure Service Delivery Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of infrastructure services across the Auckland rail network.  Acting as the key liaison between Network Control, KiwiRail operational teams, maintenance providers, and external stakeholders, you’ll coordinate daily infrastructure activities and provide real-time operational oversight to support network performance and service reliability.  This is a fast-paced operational leadership role where no two days are the same. You’ll manage day-of-operation challenges, coordinate responses to incidents and disruptions, chair key operational meetings, monitor network performance, and ensure infrastructure activities are delivered safely and efficiently.

 

This role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift roster and is located at our Auckland Rail Operations Centre in Ellerslie.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating daily infrastructure delivery across the Auckland rail network
  • Acting as the primary point of contact between Network Control, KiwiRail teams, and external partners
  • Supporting incident response and service recovery activities
  • Monitoring network performance and operational risks
  • Leading operational discussions and performance review meetings
  • Escalating service delivery issues and coordinating mitigation plans
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational performance outcomes
  • Ensuring infrastructure activities align with safety, service, and customer requirements

You’ll be a confident and capable operational professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving complex challenges while working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

 

You will bring:

  • Experience in transport, infrastructure, utilities, logistics, or service delivery environments
  • Proven ability to monitor, analyse, and improve operational performance
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to make sound decisions under pressure in a live operational environment
  • Experience coordinating multiple activities and priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the Auckland rail network and rail infrastructure (advantageous)
  • Experience using systems such as SAP, ARIS, asset databases, or similar operational platforms
